Attention All Voltron Shippers of Every Kind. Take a chill pill.
Posts have probably been made about this but I’m just gonna throw in my input as well.
I have quite a few points to cover so bear with me.
First and foremost, can we just like stop fighting over the ships please? Like I definitely don’t mind people theorizing who’s gonna be with who and saying characters should be together and being really enthusiastic about it, but when people are like putting other people down and making them feel bad about themselves because of a it, that’s not okay. I mean seriously. Come on guys. It’s a kids show. Grow up a bit.
Anyone can ship whomever they please. Klance, Sheith, Shallurance, Lotura, Allurance, Hidge, Shunk, Lancelot, Pidgeance, Hance. Who cares. Even if certain characters do end up with each other doesn’t mean we can’t still have ships. I mean heck, people still ship Zuko and Katara from The Last Airbender. I’ve even seen Zuko and Aang. Yes Katara and Aang end up getting married. But like who cares?? They’re not real people.
Now don’t get me wrong. I ship Klance like nobody’s business. Do I hope they get together? Absolutely. Do I like reading people’s theories on Klance? Oh yes. Do I disagree with certain ships? Yeah. Am I a bit dissapointed by the way the ships went this season? Sure. Do I think people who have a ship I disagree with are stupid or “have some kind brain injury”? Absolutely not!
My next point is hating the screenwriters of the show. It’s okay to be disappointed if it didn’t go the way you had hoped. It happens all the time. In tv, movies, books. Does that mean the screenwriters are wrong in what they do? No! Guys this is their story. This is their creation. These amazingly talented people put their heads together to create an art. And you guys want to disregard that because things didn’t go your way? Why would you do that?
Everyone is allowed to do their own thing. And Shipping characters is fun. It brings people together. It inspires people to do art, write, and other incredible things. Why hate on people’s talents?
Another thing. Those who get offended by gay shippings (yes I’ve seen it) is it really the end if the world? I am straight as can be and I ship gays. Cuz I just believe in love and that’s all. It doesn’t make anyone a bad person. If you don’t like queer that’s okay too. I have friends who don’t believe in other sexualities and we still get along great. I’m not gonna go further into this because sexualities is a very touchy subject
Next thing, it’s okay to obsess over this show. I obsess over this show. It actually is what kickstarted my love for drawing. It even got my style mostly from Voltron. Now drawing is my life. How can I hate something that gave me such a passion to do something amazing? But if you’re so obsessed to the point where you are lashing out at others and at the screenwriters, even giving death threats! (I know there’s only a very small amount of people who actually do but still.), you need help okay.
A quick note on OCs. I love them. I love make them. I love writing stories about them with the canon characters. I LOVE seeing other people’s OCs. It’s awesome to create characters and stories. Like I can’t even begin to describe how awesome it is. So why do a lot of people have to hate on them so much? It’s not effecting you and your creations in any way is it?
Quick story time: One time in another fandom I posted a picture of an OC of mine together with a canon character and someone started commenting things like: “I hate your OC. This character belongs to me.” “You’re art is ugly. And you’re ugly.” I’m not making this up or even exaggerating, this actually happened. While I wasn’t too hurt by it, I still really didn’t appreciate it.
The point I’m trying to make here is: If you are harassing people because of a TV SHOW. Shame on you. Shame. On. You. We all agree and disagree on different things. But we need to look at the bigger picture here. What I like to see is things like “I don’t ship it but I like your art.” Not “This ship sucks, what is wrong with you? You’re art is bad.” (Yes I’ve seen it)
Let everyone be and do their own thing. Don’t dislike people just because they like or dislike something. Especially something so silly. And to those who are getting discouraged don’t let anyone or anything get you down.
Please everyone. Go. Draw, write, ship, theorize, roleplay, animate, make videos, make friends, fantasize, love characters. That’s what fandom should be about.
If anything at all, you don’t have to like everybody but just RESPECT EACH OTHER.

It’s sad that the small negative part is the part that gets the most attention and I wish things were the opposite. Maybe it can be.
Send an ask to a favorite artist or friend. Tell them they make your day, wish them a good day. Tell them to keep doing what they’re doing and that you’re proud of their improvement and can’t wait to see more. Any form of support goes a long way, more than you know. You may even save someone who is truly in need.
We’ve had enough discourse. Lets come together to bring something good out of it.

Hello everyone! In light of recent events, a lot of people have been wanting a day set aside where we could show our love and appreciation for Josh Keaton. This is the event just for that!
-What is the “Josh Keaton Positivity Day”?-
This event is a day we’ve set aside for every Josh Keaton fan to show how much we appreciate his work. This can be done through fan art, edits, letters, videos, messages, and whatever else you can think of!
-When will this be taking place?-
The Josh Keaton Positivity Day event will be held on April 11, 2018. This should be enough time for word to get around, as well as for creators to have enough time to work on their respective projects.
-Is this just for Voltron fans?-
Of course not! Any fan of Josh Keaton and his work is more than welcome to participate. This event is for fans to show how much we love Josh, regardless of which fandoms we may or may not be a part of.
-Is this event only being held on Tumbr?-
Even though we’re currently only on Tumbr, we encourage everyone to participate on other sites that Josh currently uses, especially Twitter. We want to make sure he knows we all appreciate him and what he does for us.
-How do I participate?-
Simply make any sort of content to show how much you enjoy Josh and what he does and post it on April 11. You can tag it as #joshkeatonpositivityday or @ us so we can see and reblog your work. You can even @ Josh himself to make sure he sees the lovely content you’ve created for him.
Rules
NO ANTIS ALLOWED. This should go without saying. Considering that antis are the reason for this current situation, they will not be allowed to participate in this event. (Note: not liking shaladin doesn’t make you an anti. It just means you have a NOTP or a squick. As long as you don’t condone the actions and mindset of the anti movement, you’re more than welcome to participate)
NO HARASSMENT OF OTHER CREATORS. Harassment during this event will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If we find out you are planning to participate and you actively harass and bully others, you will be blocked.
NO SHIPS/SHIPPING DISCOURSE. Once again, this goes without saying. Josh has recently stated that he no longer wishes to participate in anything ship related. As his fans, we should all respect his wishes. Please don’t make this event about what ships you do or don’t like.
ALL CONTENT MUST INCLUDE JOSH KEATON IN A POSITIVE WAY. This isn’t to say that positive content for other members of the cast and crew is prohibited. We would just like for Josh Keaton Positivity Day content to be about Josh Keaton. (Don’t worry, a VA positivity day is already in the works. We are just doing an event specifically for Josh because of recent events revolving around him.)

Josh Keaton has officially asked to remove him from the shipping discussion, and we need to respect his decision.
Don’t send him ship head-canons, don’t ask him what ships he thinks are canon, do not argue with him about what is or is not “ship material”.
He is, above all things, a person. That fact that people have harassed not only him, but his family and coworkers, means this has gotten extremely out of hand.
I’m not just asking Klance shippers, I’m asking Sheith shippers, Shaladin shippers, any shippers for Voltron,
Please respect the crew, the cast, and the staff for Voltron.
They have worked far too hard for far too long for all of that to boil down to a shipping war.
And a shipping war is never a reason to bully, threaten, or otherwise harass a person.

Some of you take your enjoyment of a show too far and turn it into entitlement but let me tell you that you are not owed anything. What other people do in this fandom, and how they choose to enjoy it, is not for you to approve of.
The way that some of you treat each other, treat the cast and crew of the show, is abhorrent. The past six months I’ve been in this fandom, I have seen mainly young teenagers engage in this behaviour. If you’re engaging in online behaviours that would get you arrested if you attempted it in real life, why are you suddenly the judge, jury, and executioner of others online?
Sending death threats is illegal, folks, just like if you were to tell people to go kill themselves. You can’t do that. If you’re reported and found, your ass is either going to be imprisoned or fined. You want to talk about “illegal” shit like “ships” (which is not illegal, you’re delusional, but anyone with more than one brain cell already figured that out) and then start doing illegal shit? You’re not only abhorrent, you’re hypocritical.
And guess what? You actually cannot send a person to prison based on fictional ships, nor can you get them in any kind of trouble with the law. Nobody cares. But death threats? Harassment? Antis, that’s one hell of a grave you’re digging there. It’d almost be impressive if you guys weren’t so pathetic.
